ABCA/Turface Annual Maintenance Scholarships and Awards
ABCA and Turface have teamed together to offer baseball coaches two opportunities to earn free grounds maintenance supplies for their fields.
ABCA/Turface Maintenance Scholarship:
Awarded to coaches in desperate need of upgrading their field to a safe, playable level. Winning field will receive 3 tons of Turface MVP for their field. They will also receive $250/year for two years to be spent on maintaining their fields.
ABCA/Turface Maintenance Award:
Awarded to coaches that have outstanding maintenance programs in both infield and turf care. Winners will receive 1 ton of Turface MVP and $400 to be spent on maintenance equipment, and a plaque recognizing their excellence in field maintenance.
Rules of Entry:
Submit a photograph of your field and a 200 word or less paragraph summarizing why your field has earned or deserves the award or scholarship. In addition to this summary, please detail the age of the facility, type of use it receives (number of games, softball, baseball, pick up games etc.), community it serves and number of "groundskeepers" responsible for it.
Winners will be chosen by a panel of independent judges made up of grounds maintenance professionals selected by the ABCA and Turface.
Announcement of Winners:
Announcement of winners will be made at the ABCA Annual Convention in January and also published in the ABCA Coaching Digest, Collegiate Baseball and Coaching Management.
