How to Install and Maintain Bases

A close-up view of a baseball field shows home plate in the foreground and second base in the distance, with green grass and a fence in the background.
  • For installation, follow the manufacturer’s directions provided with the equipment.
  • Make sure bases are in good condition, replace torn bases immediately.
  • Ensure the ground stake is firmly seated in the ground, aligned, and at the proper height.
  • Bases should fit securely into their posts and be flush with the infield surface. Always remove bases and use base plugs over the posts to keep infield dirt from building up inside the posts. Always check every base before a game. ALWAYS FOLLOW MANUFACTURER’S DIRECTIONS FOR USE.
