Giving Every Plant a Advantage.

HydraFiber Advanced Substrate offers a very sustainable raw material that helps make more water available to every plant. Produced in Conover, North Carolina, it uses 100% renewable and virgin southern yellow pine wood and bark, sourced primarily from reforested plots and locally supplied within a half-day drive. The process uses only heat, steam and pressure to create sterile, inert fibers with no varnishes, chemicals or other added agents. When added to peat, HydraFiber increases readily available water compared to peat / coir and peat / perlite mixes.

Key Points

  • OMRI-listed and suitable for organic production, produced from 100% renewable and virgin southern yellow pine wood and bark, with most pine coming from reforested plots.
  • Uses by-product 1″ x 1″ wood chips and bark from the timber industry; virgin wood means no varnishes, chemicals or other added agents, and the material is completely sterile and inert after processing with only heat, steam and pressure.
  • Independent research shows that adding HydraFiber to peat increases readily available water by 35% versus peat / coir mixes, and by 10% versus peat / perlite mixes.
  • Adding 20% HydraFiber 090WB to peat increases available water compared to 20% perlite or 20% coir blended with peat, with available water gains of +10% and +36.6% respectively.
