Giving Every Plant a Advantage.

HydraFiber® Advanced Substrate gives every plant a sustainable advantage through responsibly sourced, high-performing fibers. This OMRI-listed raw material is suitable for organic production and produced in Conover, North Carolina from 100% renewable, virgin southern yellow pine wood and bark, primarily from reforested plots. Virgin wood chips and bark by-products are processed locally using only heat, steam and pressure, creating a sterile, inert substrate without added chemicals. Independent research shows that blending HydraFiber with peat increases readily available water versus peat / coir or peat / perlite mixes, so plants can go longer between waterings than with conventional mixes that do not contain HydraFiber.

Key Points

  • HydraFiber Advanced Substrate is OMRI-listed and suitable for organic production as a very sustainable raw material made from 100% renewable, virgin southern yellow pine wood and bark.
  • Raw chips are a by-product of the timber industry, and pine wood and bark from reforested plots are processed locally in Conover, North Carolina to produce HydraFiber.
  • Only heat, steam and pressure are used in manufacturing, resulting in a sterile, inert material with no varnishes, chemicals or other added agents.
  • Independent research shows that adding HydraFiber to peat increases readily available water by 35% versus peat / coir mixes and by 10% versus peat / perlite mixes, allowing plants to go longer between waterings than mixes without HydraFiber.
