Gebieden nabij het einde van een start- en landingsbaan waren bijzonder problematisch, en het gebrek aan begroeiing daar werd voortdurend als een overtreding aangemerkt. Oorspronkelijk schreven de projectspecificaties voor dat er op het terrein compostmatten moesten worden gebruikt om de groei te bevorderen. De aannemer die op het project had ingeschreven, vroeg<sup>Profile\u00ae<\/sup> om met de ingenieur te overleggen over andere opties voor bodemverbetering die betere resultaten zouden opleveren.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tijdens een bijeenkomst met de ingenieur lieten vertegenwoordigers van Profile en de aannemer zien hoe het gebruik van ProGanics Biotic Soil Media\u2122 (BSM) in plaats van compost tot betere resultaten tegen lagere kosten zou kunnen leiden. ProGanics BSM, een hydraulisch aangebrachte Engineered Soil Media\u2122 (ESM\u2122), levert de benodigde organische stof en bodemverbeterende componenten om de bodemchemie te veranderen, de groei op gang te brengen en op duurzame wijze vegetatie te vestigen. ProGanics BSM wordt veel sneller en met minder arbeid aangebracht dan compostlagen. Na de presentatie keurde de ingenieur het gebruik van ProGanics BSM goed als gelijkwaardig aan compost.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Profile begon met een bodemanalyse om vast te stellen welke aanpassingen nodig waren om een gunstiger groeiomgeving te cre\u00ebren en de juiste plantensoorten te selecteren voor duurzame begroeiing. Het team bracht eerst ProGanics BSM aan, gevolgd door een toepassing van de milieuvriendelijke TerraMatrix Stabilized Mulch Matrix (SMM). Terra-Matrix SMM vormt een erosiebestendige laag die sedimentverlies en de verspreiding van bodemdeeltjes voorkomt. Uiteindelijk heeft deze aanpak het project tijd bespaard, wat zich vertaalde in kostenbesparingen.
