For AgriNomix HydraFiber Processing Units experiencing premature wear of the fiber bale conveyor drive belt, the fiber conveyor drive can be converted from a cogged timing belt and pulleys to a #40 chain and sprockets. The procedure covers accessing the drive area, removing the existing belt, timing gears, bearings and motor/gearbox assembly, then installing new chain sprockets using existing taper-lock bushings. Sprockets are aligned, tightened to specified torque values, and the chain is tensioned before reinstalling the pinch roller belt, guards and hardware. A replacement parts list specifies the required chain, master link and sprockets.

Key Points

  • Addresses premature fiber bale conveyor drive belt wear by replacing the cog belt with a chain and sprockets.
  • Uses existing taper-lock bushings to mount new chain sprockets on the motor and conveyor shafts.
  • Specifies tightening taper-lock bushing hardware in two steps: 45 in./lbs. then 90 in./lbs. in an alternating pattern.
  • Replacement components include one #40 Master Link, seventy-nine #40 Steel Chain Links and two 40SH20 Chain Sprockets.
